1. General

These Terms & Conditions of Sale (the “Terms”) apply to all orders placed on the website www.luzeditions.com (the “Website”) by any customer (“Customer” or “you”) with Luz Editions (“Company”, “we”, “us”).

By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you have obtained the consent of a legal guardian, and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

These Terms are intended to apply internationally. However, mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in the Customer’s country of residence may also apply and shall prevail where required by law.

2. Products

The products offered by Luz Editions are handcrafted creations made in collaboration with Portuguese artisans.

Unless otherwise stated, lighting fixtures are made to order, with an indicative production lead time of 3 to 4 weeks.
Some items may exceptionally be available in stock.

Due to the artisanal nature of the production process, each piece may present slight variations in colour, texture or finish, which are inherent to handmade production and do not constitute a defect.

3. Prices

Prices are indicated in euros (EUR) and include all applicable taxes (VAT included, where applicable).

Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout based on the weight, destination, and selected carrier.

For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, local taxes, import fees, currency conversion fees or bank charges may apply. These costs are borne exclusively by the Customer and are non-refundable.

Luz Editions reserves the right to modify prices at any time, without affecting orders already confirmed.

4. Orders

Any order placed on the Website constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms.

An order confirmation email is sent once payment has been successfully processed, at which point the sales contract is deemed concluded.

Luz Editions reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order in the event of a dispute with the Customer, non-payment of a previous order, or incorrect information provided by the Customer.

Products remain the property of Luz Editions until full payment has been received.

5. Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of order.

Accepted payment methods are those offered on the Website, including but not limited to:

  • Credit or debit card via Stripe

  • PayPal

  • Any other payment method displayed during checkout

Payments are processed securely by third-party payment service providers.

6. Delivery

Orders are shipped via CTT Expresso or DPD, depending on the destination.

Indicative delivery times (excluding production time):

  • Portugal: approximately 4 business days

  • European Union: approximately 5 to 7 business days

Delivery times are indicative only. Luz Editions cannot be held responsible for delays attributable to the carrier.

7. Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, the right of withdrawal does not apply to products that are made to order or personalised, including lighting fixtures produced upon order.

For in-stock products only, Customers have a period of 8 calendar days from receipt of the product to exercise their right of withdrawal.

Return shipping costs are borne by the Customer.

8. Returns and Refunds

Returns are accepted only for in-stock products.

Returned items must be:

  • in their original packaging,

  • carefully protected and immobilised,

  • in perfect condition, unused and undamaged.

Refunds are issued only after receipt and inspection of the returned product.

Any product returned damaged or broken, including due to insufficient packaging, will not be eligible for a refund.

9. Product Compliance, Liability and Use

Product photographs and descriptions are provided for illustrative purposes and aim to represent the products as accurately as possible.

Variations inherent to artisanal production do not constitute a lack of conformity.

Once a product has been delivered in conformity, aesthetic appreciation or personal preference does not justify a return or refund.

Lighting fixtures must be installed by a qualified professional.
Luz Editions cannot be held liable for damage, malfunction or injury resulting from improper installation or misuse.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Website, including but not limited to designs, images, texts, product names, trademarks, logos and graphics, is the exclusive property of Luz Editions or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Any reproduction, distribution, modification or use without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

11. Personal Data

Personal data collected is used solely for order processing, invoicing and customer relations.

The Website is hosted by Shopify, which processes data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Portuguese law.

In the event of a dispute and failing amicable resolution, the courts of Lisbon (Portugal) shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
