FROM THE RED SOLE TO THE RED SOUL, HOTEL VERMELHO
Many know him for his great artistic work in the field of fashion, but few are those who know his ideas beyond this domain. The designer of the must-have red leather sole is back today with something new! This time it's not about shoes, it's about architecture. Christian Louboutin shows us the other side of the coin, mixing the beauty of fashion with the elegance of a place.

The artist opens his new design, assisted by the architect Madalena Caiado and fabric creator Carolina Irving to give life to his first hotel, Vermelho, located in Portugal in the Melides area. It's a space filled with absorbing tones with fine, elegant interiors and contemplative details that leave our jaws dropping.

"Its name comes from the word red in Portuguese, a nod to the designer's iconic scarlet sole".
The look at the beauty that the artist takes to the architectural structure is such that it stands out effortlessly in the interior settings. From neutral to classic red, everything passes and everything enchants! Passers-by marvel at the service, as well as the perspective and beauty of the place: simple, elegant and pleasant. A promise fulfilled.

"The establishment has 13 personalized rooms, a spa, a bar and, of course, a restaurant, all designed by Christian Louboutin himself".

The facade of Vermelho is adorned with an aquatic blue, embellished with enormous Baroque ceramic sconces made by Giuseppe Ducrot. A luxury and simple beauty for the eyes. It doesn't rule out color or texture that make him vibrate so much, adding some ceramic touches with the famous tile that so well recalls Portuguese history, being a reference to the country's tradition.

"This project is an opportunity to show the talent of many artists and artisans".

MELIDES AND LOUBOUTIN, LA SALVADA AND LA FOLIE HOUSES
With a young, cheerful, passionate and communicative spirit, Christian is a born artist. As soon as he arrived in Portugal, he was immediately enchanted by the fresh aroma of the country. His personality is evident in his works. This is yet another one that delights thousands of us — his house La Salvada in Melides, where he gathers family and friends.

Not too far from La Salvada there is La folie, a magical place where Christian practices meditation next to nature, entering in introspection, a very inspirational way of living. "At his vacation compound on the Portuguese coast, the designer has amassed a veritable village of imaginative buildings".

Faithful to his ideas, Christian remains within the contemporary traditional bohemian style, together with the architect Tarek Shamma.

The artist says it's impossible to adapt to a certain place without being in alignment with the energy of the people who live there, "that's why I fell in love with the freshness and friendliness of the Portuguese people", he says with a full heart.
"A unique place for unique people", as much as he is.
AND WHAT ABOUT US...?
Well... they're not red, but they go perfectly with the color. Our candles breathe freshness and intensity; sweet temptation flavor, natural soy-based wax, not harmful to health, wrapped in unglazed black clay, they ooze simplicity and lightness.
